Dr. ​Varghese is an Associate Professor of Research at USC’s Keck School of Medicine, pioneering the convergence of artificial intelligence and quantitative imaging for precision health.​ As a biomedical imaging scientist, he’s dedicated to unlocking the clinical potential of multi-modal imaging biomarkers, maximizing data utilization for improved patient outcomes.

Leading three NIH- and foundation-funded studies, Dr. Varghese is at the forefront of early detection for Alzheimer’s Disease and Breast Cancer, leveraging standard imaging modalities and AI-driven data analysis. With expertise in building and validating image processing and radiomics pipelines, he ensures reliability and quality. His contributions to the field are reflected in over 125 peer-reviewed publications, including top-cited papers in the Journal of Clinical Medical Physics, and his service as a topic editor for Frontiers.

Beyond research, Dr. Varghese is committed to shaping the future of healthcare by training the next generation in AI and medical imaging. He actively mentors students and serves on the institutional review board. Outside of his professional pursuits, he finds joy in cooking and traveling, transforming each experience into a cherished memory.
